BIO
Jewelia is the moniker of London-based indie pop singer-songwriter and producer Iulia Tache.
In 2012 Iulia moved to the UK to study Creative Music Technology at the University of Surrey, where she met Andy Denyer, who has since joined the project. In 2014 Jewelia self-released a debut EP entitled 'Monsters', a combination of pop, new age and electronica.
2015 brought a second, self-produced EP, 'Beyond The Glass Sky’. Later in 2015, Jewelia's song “Aquarium” was selected as the official soundtrack of "13 Shades of Romanian", a crowdfunded award-winning mini-series that was aired on several Romanian TV channels and was screened at film festivals in London, Los Angeles Cinefest, Rome Film Festival, TMMF, and others. The soundtrack was also aired on major Romanian stations (National FM and Europa FM), and also on Eagle Radio (Surrey & Hampshire).
Jewelia has been gathering a small, but devoted UK fan base from playing numerous gigs, both acoustic or with a band around London, Surrey, Cambridge, Essex, and Hertfordshire, but also online, through regular YouTube releases (over 820,000 streams on YouTube channel).
Her debut album 'City of My Mind' has been funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised over £4200. The album was released in December 2018 with a sold out launch party at Roadtrip & The Workshop in London. 'Dead Leaves’, one of the songs on the forthcoming album has been played on BBC Introducing and extensively on Cambridge 105 and on Cam FM.
